Professional qualifications and life experience
I have a Master of Arts degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling following a five-year BACP and UKCP accredited training at the Minster Centre, London. I am accredited and registered with UKCP and a registered member of BACP. I have been working with clients since 2005 both at the Minster Centre low cost therapy service and the counselling service at Watford Women's Centre. I set up my private practice in early 2010 as a fully qualified therapist. In 2012 I obtained a Post Qualifying Certificate in Couple Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education .
I trained originally as a solicitor specialising in family and child law and witnessed the impact and distress of childhood trauma and family breakdown. Since then I have worked in various different capacities in the same field including advice, support and advocacy, family mediation for separating couples, training and policy development. From my experience over the years I have gained a good understanding of the issues as well as the challenges and stresses facing those working in this field.
